Who we are

Academic rigor. Applied engineering. Regulatory precision.

We’re a team of aeronautical engineers with academic and applied credentials: former university professors — including a former Dean — and inventors with granted patents. Our team spans specialists to PhDs, and we’ve delivered projects built to meet the strictest aeronautical regulatory standards.

We focus on airport MRO facilities and regulatory compliance, bringing the right discipline-specific experts to every engagement rather than forcing projects through a one-size-fits-all process.

Academic leadership

Former professors and a former Dean shape our engineering methodology.

Patented innovation

Team inventors hold granted patents, including our own Vortex Deflector technology.

Regulatory-first delivery

Every deliverable is built to withstand strict aeronautical regulatory review, including ICAO Annex 14.

What we do

Strategic engineering across the aviation ecosystem.

From compliance mapping to sustainable infrastructure, we cover the disciplines that keep airports, hangars, and aerial operations safe, efficient, and regulation-ready.

01

Airport Engineering & OLS Compliance

GIS mapping for Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS), aerial surveying, and photogrammetry to deliver compliant maps, datasets, and 3D models under ICAO Annex 14.

02

Advanced Aerial Mobility (AAM)

Multimodal analysis to integrate drones and unmanned aerial vehicles into airports and aerial transport networks.

03

Sustainable Aviation Infrastructure

Solar integration, noise mitigation, and jet blast control engineered into sustainable aviation projects.

04

Hangar & MRO Facility Design

Hangar design for paint spraying systems, including airflow optimization for modern MRO operations.

Our process

A streamlined path from discovery to closeout.

Every engagement follows a disciplined, four-stage process — transparent scope, clear deliverables, and a formal review at the end.

01

Discovery

Every project begins with a conversation to define the desired outcomes, constraints, and scope.

02

Action Plan

Okicam LLC prepares a comprehensive document outlining the proposed approach, including a feasibility quotation and the steps required for project implementation.

03

Implementation Planning

After the initial phase is completed, we develop a more detailed implementation or execution plan as needed.

04

Review & Closeout

The project concludes with a review of the agreed scope and a formal closeout.

Airport Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS)

For five airports, operator Airplan SAS commissioned Okicam to collect and process geospatial data for compliance with the aviation authority’s OLS requirements under ICAO Annex 14. Using aerial surveying, photogrammetry, land surveying, and specialized software, we produced compliant maps, datasets, and 3D models.

Paint Shop Feasibility & Hangar Modernization

Okicam led a feasibility study to modernize existing hangars for the evolving needs of contemporary aviation. The work focused on upgrading electrical systems, firefighting capability, and air-conditioning and heating — enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and comfort while expanding capacity to house larger aircraft.

Heliport Design, Feasibility & Fleet Analysis

A construction company commissioned a feasibility study for an air ambulance helicopter service in the Buenaventura region. The assessment covered operational static and dynamic loads, fleet requirements, service coverage, and selection of the critical design helicopter — plus the heliport’s surrounding OLS and integration with rooftop systems. Okicam assembled a multidisciplinary team and delivered a report defining requirements for detailed design.

Case 04 / 05

Jet Blast Deflector, Rionegro Airport

As owners of the Vortex Deflector brand, Okicam designed a custom jet blast protection system for a hangar near the exit taxiway to Runway 19 at Rionegro Airport — compact enough to satisfy OLS constraints while protecting against the No. 2 center engine exhaust of an MD-11. The aerodynamic design applied the Coandă effect, validated by CFD simulation of jet-blast misalignment relative to the barrier. We delivered aerodynamic design, structural load calculations, and full project management through installation.

Truck-Mounted “Follow Me” Signage

The operations team at an international airport asked Okicam to develop a truck-mounted “Follow Me” signage system. Because the airport sits on a sunny tropical coast but also experiences winter fog and low visibility, the display had to deliver more than 10,000 nits, offer adjustable brightness, and support preprogrammed messages — all while complying with aeronautical regulations and providing in-cab information to the vehicle operator.
